This huge pair of "Barbotine" ceramic plaques have all the bells and whistles. Completely hand painted with inviting seacapes in a soft marine palette, each one is surrounded with raised paste flowers and realistically modeled and molded swallows framing the borders.The birds are totally three-dimensional and ready to fly away and the borders of pierced flowers are ready to be picked! A uniquely wonderful and dramatic pair of wall decorations. Ca 1880-1910

24 1/2" in diameter and 3" tall. Excellent condition commensurate with age.
