This is a familiar wheel cut motif that Baccarat used on vases and tazzas and this is beautifully executed on this tall vase. The solid and substantial clear blank is elegantly decorated on both the flaring top rim and base with fruit and leaves cascading downward in an Art Nouveau motif. The thick blank allows for the engraver to create deep, highly polished fruits and leaves. With a low center of gravity, this vase can be used for tall and dramatic flowers and flowering branches, with no fear of tipping over.
Empty or full, this vase is a show-stopper! Excellent condition commensurate with age, made in France ca. 1890-1900.
