19th C. Dresden Porcelain Hand Painted Box
This is an unusual architecturally shaped porcelain box made by Dresden ca. 1860 with a figural winged bird as the finial. Completely hand painted floral decoration in polychrome enamels, the lid is comprised of many steps ending in a pierced border which fits snugly on the base.The sides feature two-dimensional jesters as handles and the box is trimmed in gold. This would be a lovely dresser box or used in a display.
