This early 19th Century dessert service was made by John Ridgways, ca. 1802 and features a molded and relief plate with all over blue glaze creating a dramatic contrast to the hand painted butterfly centers. Each plate is uniquely decorated and the colors of the flowers and butterflies are eye-popping! The gold decorated shaped rims frame the molded borders and the condition is amazing. The oval comport is 12" x 9", the shell compotes measure 10.5" x 9" and the dessert plates are 9" in diameter.
