This set of 12 footed dessert compotes or "Supremes" are a rare treat. Hand blown crystal made by Steuben in "Verre de Soie" or "Glass of Silk," was one of Frederick Carder's favorite glass.
Each one has a subtle and unique iridescence creating a soft rainbow effect. As they were engraved by T. G. Hawkes, Corning New York, they bear the Hawkes signature in block letters. They are all wheel-cut with floral garlands and medallions and would be the most elegant addition to any table setting. Museum quality, these 12 are in perfect condition, large and dramatic and a collector's dream come true. The set also includes 12 matching footed small compotes which can be used individually for condiments or nuts and as intended, placed inside the compote to hold cocktail sauce or caviar, surrounded by crushed ice and gorgeous shrimp.
