Dominick & Haff Sterling Silver Vermeil Dessert Set for 12 J. E. Caldwell 1895

Dominick & Haff Sterling Silver Vermeil Dessert Set for 12 J. E. Caldwell 1895

One of the most amazing sets in my inventory is this custom order service for 12 made by J. E. Caldwell, Philadelphia. It combines sterling silver with gold vermeil and hand blown crystal by Sinclaire dating to 1895-1897 and the set consists of 12 service plates, 12 dessert bowls with engraved Sinclaire inserts, 2 footed tazzas/compotes, 6 smaller Sinclaire crystal engraved condiment bowls and a salt and pepper shaker. Each piece is dated and monogrammed "WL" from "JL" with consecutive dates as it seems that this was gifted at Christmas time over a period of years. The silver weighs +/- 339 troy ounces alone and the detail and workmanship plus rarity, quantitity and condition makes this an extraordinary museum quality find! Please view all the pictures to see this service in its entirety especially with the elaborate pierced borders!
