This is an amazing set of 12 signed Baccarat water goblets in the rare Elbeuf pattern. The service was first introduced in 1908 and presented at the International Exhibition in Nancy, France in 1909. Specially ordered in 1920 by the Maharaja of Baroda, these are truly fit for a King! The hand blown clear crystal is cut with elegant lines, brilliantly refracting light like a rainbow and they ring like a bell. The exquisite cutting on the bowls suggest diamonds, jewels and palmettes that evoke a flower when seen from above in keeping with the Art Nouveau style of the time. The stem is facet cut, embellished with a diamond cut ring and the six lobed foot is cut with stars and palmettes.
