This is a rare and amazing amethyst overlay cut to clear dessert service for 12 made and signed by Webb ca. 1920's. The 24 piece set consists of 12 large bowls and 12 matching plates. These are actual dessert and or salad plates as they are not dished as only an under plate would be. These are flat with a wonderful raised border and a perfect size measuring 7 3/4" in diameter and 1" tall. Add this to the stemware service and you will have everything you need for a perfect table setting in such an unusual color. The amethyst contrasting the masterful, detailed cutting of the clear body takes your breath away! The purple amethyst is rich and vibrant and also blends nicely with turquoise and greens and creates a dramatic display in a cabinet as well. The bowls measure 4.5" in diameter and 2.5" tall and the dessert plates measure 7.75" in diameter and 1 inch tall. Made in England ca. 1920's. All in excellent condition!
