This set of 12 large rimmed soup bowls dating from 1882, are hand painted and gilded showcasing the expert talent of the Minton factory. Retailed by Gilman, Collamore, NY., the Tiffany of department stores at the turn of the century, these are perfect for soup, salads and best of all, used as a "soup plate". That is the size that is ideal for pasta, risotto or any dinner course presented best in a bowl. The cobalt blue border with acid etched gold provides a lovely "frame" around the polychrome enamel floral decoration which works with many color ways.
