19th Century Aesthetic Movement Worcester Shell & Coral Vase with Perched Salamander
This rare example of Aesthetic Movement ivory porcelain themed vases features the curious perched salamander inspecting the contents of the open shell. The translucent wall allows light that highlights the realistic shape and relief of the form. The shell is standing on a naturalistic coral base highlighted in gold with gilded enamel trim on the shell as well. The perfect decorative vase for display on a mantel (fireplace) or sideboard or featured in a collection and paired with item #3671, it makes quite a statement! See picture # 5 to see the 3 vases together.
