This rare set of 6 hand painted Copeland dessert plates feature accurate and finely painted fruit subjects. What sets these apart is not just the central subject but the amazing octagonal borders with a bamboo-like Japonesque effect on a contrasing red enamel border. Highlighted in gold with a gold beaded border, these would make a fabulous display as well serve as a gorgeous cheese course and dessert plate. Made in England Ca.1880's  All in excellent condition commensureate with age.
