Twelve 19th C Clement Massier French Hand Painted Cabinet Plates
This set of charming earthenware dessert plates, made by Clement Massier, have dramatically shaped rims and beautifully painted architectural subjects. The hand painted polychrome enamels and gold over molded raised "waves", frame the 12 uniquely painted French scenic subjects, most named. Some of the named subjects include "Amboise", Chateau Locher, Chambord and Villandry. The painting is quite detailed and finely done and cover the entire well of the plate. These would fit beautifully in a library or any display with a French theme. Ca.1890's
