A fabulous set of 12 porcelain dinner plates, each decorated with engravings of trades of Old Paris, "Les Metiers du Vieux Paris". Six are titled "Paris 1600" and 6 are titled "Les Metiers". They include wonderful depictions of men and women in period dress showing their wares and trades, including the glass salesman, the vegetable seller, The wooden bowls and utensils seller, the used clothing seller, etc. The line drawings are all hand colored and are a charming mix of history and a great decorative element and conversation starter.
