This decoratve Minton hand painted plate depicts a naturalistic scene of a blue bird on a branch surrounded by cherry blossoms, named "Essex Birds". The interesting off-center motif is typical of the Aesthetic Movement decoration making this an eye catching subject. The border is highlighted in gold.

Made in England,  Ca. 1890-1900 in excellent condition commensurate with age.
