Pair of Copeland Japonesque Vases with Gold Dragons, Birds & Cherry Blossoms
The pair of 19th century Copeland bisque ground vases epitomizes the best of the Aesthetic Movement period and style. The simple clean lines of the classical form vases are decorated with the iconic symbols of the Japanese culture with the applied full-scale dragons encircling the body and the subtle addition of the soft pink cherry blossoms. The Florentine gold on the dragons and borders enhances the quality of the gilt finish and these are further decorated with subtle two-dimensional molded birds in relief. The condition is excellent and these are even more awesome in person. Ca. 1890's
