This porcelain dinner plate by Royal Copenhagen is part of the exceptionally rare Flora Danica Game Series. called "Fauna". While most Flora Danica dishes feature one of the native flowers of Denmark, this example boasts a charming Grouse standing confidently in a beautifully painted landscape, intricately hand-painted at its center. As with all Flora Danica pieces, this Latin name of the animal, Lyrurus Tetrix, Black Grouse, is written on the reverse. The gilded border is serrated and beaded which also sets this pattern apart. Made in Denmark Ca.1950's Excellent Condition!
