19th Century Worcester Aesthetic Movement Hand-Painted Game Service, 16 Pieces

This wonderful 19th century complete game service made by Worcester, features 12 hand-painted plates depicting game birds with Aesthetic Movement brown transfer borders and shaped rims. The large oval platter is embellished with figural raised birds extending along the borders. Also included, is a matching sauce tureen and under plate and a pair of condiment or bone dishes with raised figural decoration. Painted in a naturalistic polychrome palette and gilded highlights, this set has a casual sensibility that lends itself to any season and can be beautifully displayed or used in a table setting. Ready for the holidays or any time, this service will be the focal point!
