This is a set of 12 hand painted Dresden dinner plates depicing classic Watteau scenes surrounding the borders with masterfully hand painted centers, each a unique scene. The central subjects are large and eye-catching, works of art unto themselves. The clean white ground, highlighted with a gilded rim, provides a lovely contrast to the bright polychrome enamels making these perfect for chargers as well as display.  The large diameter makes these service plates a vibrant welcome invitation to your favorite tablesetting.

These are decorated by Carl Thieme, Dresden ca. 1910, all in excellent condition!!
