In keeping with one of my favorite decorative periods, this set of 12 Royal Doulton dinner plates are wonderful examples of the Aesthetic Movement/Japonism motif. The clear white centers are surrounded by cobalt blue reserves of flower-filled urns, branches, leaves and the delightful cherry blossoms in the "Imari" palette, adding soft pinks and greens. The borders are decorated with 2 bands of acid-etched gold to add to their elegance, perfect to use as both a service plate and a dinner plate.
Made in England, ca. 1910, all in excellent condition, commensurate with age.
