This impressive and elaborate set of 12 Royal Worcester service/dinner plates are decorated with a true black ground border. The unusual Art Nouveau acid-etched and raised paste gold decoration creates a sharp contrast against the black and the swirling gold design is dramatic. These were retailed exclusively at Soane and Smith, London, and even the foot rims are gilded. These date to ca. 1905 

Excellent condition commensurate with age.
