This set of 8 dessert plates are part of the iconic porcelain service, "Il Circo" "The Circus" designed by Gio Ponti for Richard Ginori. The celebrated Italian designer Gio Ponti (1891 –1979) was an Italian architect, industrial designer, furniture designer and artist. Gio Ponti was appointed artistic director in 1923 for Richard Ginori, founded in 1735, Italy's preeminent manufacturers of porcelain tableware, based in Milan. This set features examples of the circus subjects including the seal, juggler, tight-rope walker and clown.

Made in Italy, all in excellent condition ca. 1920's-1930's.
