Sevres Hand Painted Artist Signed Ca.1864 Pink Cabinet Plate W/ Puttis

This a rare museum worthy hand painted, artist signed, Sevres cabinet plate dated 1846. The pair of Puttis are busy writing on their manuscripts relaxed on either side of the center, with the regal crown in the middle. It is a monogram or Royal Cypher of King Louis Phillippe of France with elaborate calligraphic flourishes. The soft pink border is highlighted with gold leaves encircling the white border embellished with gold. Putti are winged infants who either play the role of angelic spirits in religious works, or act as instruments of profane love. They are often shown as associates of Cupid. They have their origin in Greek and Roman antiquity. This is also marked Chateau des Tuilleries.
