19th Century Hand-Painted Porcelain Plaque by Turner

A rare and extraordinary large heart-shaped porcelain plaque is made by G. W. Turner, Tunstall, England dating from 1890s. The border is a work of art unto itself with a soft Impressionistic palette and the subject is both whimsical and Romantic. Two faeries are making a wish and blowing dandelion seeds into the breeze amid a field of flowering dandelions. The background landscape is beautifully painted with a far away mountainous scene. These are quite heavy and still retain the original wooden mount which is still suitable for hanging.
